About Streamlined
Streamlined is an online publication and newsletter that covers the film and streaming content industries outside of the Americas and Europe – i.e. across Asia Pacific and Africa.

We live in an era in which films and TV shows are travelling, all the rules have changed, and there’s more need than ever to understand the world of content production outside of Europe and North America. While these regions do get covered by the US trades, this coverage often gets lost in the firehose of Hollywood and Europe-focused content.
Streamlined Insights - our newsletters providing summaries of recent industry news and events, original reporting and analysis in an easily digestible format, all in one place.
Streamlined Guides - in-depth reports on the major players, talent and trends in a string of film and TV industries around the world.
Streamlined’s website is a free resource for industry practitioners who work across international borders – providing coverage of industry trends, funding announcements, co-production, projects markets, film festivals and more.
Streamlined is wholly owned by Chime Consulting, a Hong Kong-registered company founded by Liz Shackleton.
ABOUT LIZ SHACKLETON

I’m a film and media trade journalist with decades of experience, first working for Screen International in London, then for Screen and later Deadline out of Hong Kong. I’ve also written for publications including South China Morning Post, Nikkei Asia, Broadcast and Music Business International.
I’ve also worked with BAFTA in Asia and taken on consultancy assignments for the British Film Institute, Olsberg SPI and Netherlands Film Fund. Working with various partners, I’ve also organised and moderated seminars featuring key industry executives at dozens of film festivals and conferences around the world, and occasionally find time to take on jury duty at film festivals (watching films is a luxury in this industry!)
I launched Streamlined in 2022 because I saw many gaps in the US and UK-based trades’ coverage of the content industries outside of North America and Europe. I also wanted to build a reader-funded business model for film and TV industry journalism that isn’t dependent on highly-compromised contract publishing assignments or chasing internet traffic.
If you’d like to support me on this crazy mission, please subscribe to the Streamlined newsletter, which has free and paid options.
