US-based KC Global Media is expanding its collaboration with the Philippines’ Rein Entertainment by partnering on a five-title co-production slate currently in development for 2026 and 2027.

The two companies will kick off the new collaboration with crime drama Dose, which was recently selected for the Producers’ Pitch at this year’s Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF).

The eight-episode series centres on two powerful women – a rising triad queenpin and a relentless international police agent – who are forced into a tense alliance as they confront a brutal, male-dominated criminal empire. Further details of the slate, which is expected to start production in 2026, is still under wraps.

KC Global and Rein previously collaborated on six-part series Drug War: A Conspiracy Of Silence, which premiered at this year’s ContentAsia Summit.

Founded by former Sony executives Andy Kaplan and George Chien, KC Global Media Asia (KCGM Asia) operates a group of channels acquired from Sony, including AXN, Animax and GEM, and is also involved in production, distribution and programming of premium content. Based in the US, the company has offices in Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Philippines and Korea.

Rein Entertainment, founded by industry veterans Lino Cayetano and Shugo Praico, has produced films and series for platforms including Netflix, Prime Video and Tencent. The company’s credits also include socio-political thriller Bagman, LGBTQ+ romantic comedy Betcin and eco-horror The Caretakers.

Commenting on the deal with Rein, Bonnie Wiryani, Vice President, Revenue & Head of Content Sales, KC Global Media Distribution, said: “This slate marks an exciting new chapter in our partnership with Rein Entertainment, as we double down on bold, globally resonant storytelling from Asia.

“Rein Entertainment brings deep regional insight and a track record of powerful, socially relevant narratives, which aligns with KC Global Media’s strength in premium content curation and international distribution. With titles like Dose, we’re investing in character-driven originals that challenge genre conventions and spotlight powerful female leads. This series also presents opportunities to develop remakes, prequels and sequels.”

Rein Entertainment President and CEO, Lino S. Cayetano, said: “We’re proud to expand our creative synergy with KC Global Media on this new slate. Their vast international reach and expertise in elevating Asian stories for global platforms make them an ideal partner. Together, we look forward to creating more content that reflects the dynamic voices and visions emerging from the region, and we’re thrilled to bring them to international audiences.”
