Indonesia’s Magma Entertainment is producing a feature adaptation of best-selling Bumilangit comic The Blind Warrior From The Phantom Cave: Angel Eyes (Si Buta dari Gua Hantu: Mata Malaikat).

The studio behind 2025 hit horror sequel Qodrat 2 announced the project today at JAFF Market. Production is scheduled to begin in 2026 for release in 2027.

Magma’s Linda Gozali is set to produce with Charles Gozali directing. The screenplay is currently being developed by Magma’s writing team, including Asaf Antariksa and Gea Rexy. Cecep Arif Rahma (Gundala, Qodrat) is on board as stunt coordinator.

Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is an iconic Indonesian martial arts hero created by Ganes TH and first introduced in comic form in 1967. Since then, more than 180 comic volumes have been published, reaching over 20 million readers. The character was also previously adapted into a TV series in 1993.

The Magma team will work closely with Bumilangit founder and CEO, Bismarka Kurniawan, on the project, which will be part of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe.

Bumilangit has one of Asia’s largest libraries of comic book characters. The company’s cinematic universe was launched with 2019 hit Gundala, directed by Joko Anwar and produced by Screenplay Films, followed by Sri Asih (2022) and Virgo And The Sparklings (2023). The universe expanded into television with Tira (2023), starring Chelsea Islan (Headshot), which streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

Casting for the new project is still underway and the team remains open to investment and collaboration.

Magma’s upcoming slate also includes Badut Gendong (Dance Of The Damned), an extension of its Qodrat horror universe to be co-produced with Malaysia’ Skop Productions for release in 2026. Linda Gozali said that rather than treating the project as a simple spin-off, the team is focused on shaping a broader world with richer storytelling: “The emotional core that defines Qodrat is something we intend to keep," Gozali said.

The company is also producing Mayat Hidup (Jump Scare), a horror comedy inspired by Hong Kong vampire movies of the ‘80s and ‘90s, also set for release in 2026, along with Qodrat 3, the third installment in the hit franchise, with Vino G. Bastian reprising his role as the titular character, which is scheduled for release in 2028.
