Tatino Films Launches First Cut Lab Paris For International Projects
The Paris-based lab is open to feature-length films at the editing stage from anywhere in the world.
France’s Tatino Films is launching a Paris edition of its editing consultancy programme, First Cut Lab Paris, which will take place in January 2026 and is open to feature-length films at the editing stage from anywhere in the world.
Each selected team – comprising a director, producer and editor – will be provided with tailored feedback aimed at refining the film’s artistic vision, enhancing its international appeal and strengthening its circulation potential. Selected participants will also get the chance to connect with Paris-based sales, distribution, and production companies, as well as French film festivals.
“Tatino’s activities span the globe, yet its heart lies in Paris. Our collaborators, who mingle at our Paris office, form a truly international crew, originally coming from Bosnia, Chile, Lebanon, Italy or Lithuania. Their shared passion for cinema is what led them to live in the French capital. The whole world comes to Paris to make films,” said Tatino Films CEO Matthias Darras
Tatino Films has been running a Pop Up Film Residency in Paris since 2021. Darras said the new First Cut Lab Paris programme has been designed to align with the post-production schedule of films targeting spring and summer 2026 festival premieres. The call for submissions opens on October 27, 2025.
Regular First Cut Lab editing consultants include Romania’s Catalin Cristutiu, editor of the works of Radu Jude; Poland’s Agnieszka Glinska, editor of Oscar-nominated The Girl With The Needle; and French editor Benjamin Mirguet, who works with Ruben Östlund.
Recent First Cut Lab projects include Chie Hayakawa’s Renoir; Blue Heron, directed by Sophy Romvari; Mr. K from Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab; and Wind, Talk To Me from Stefan Djordjevic.
