TCCF Launches Four New Prizes; Unveils 70 Selections Across Projects & Stories
Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has made 70 selections for the 2026 edition of Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) Pitching; among which 44 are Projects and 26 are Stories across fiction & non-fiction works and comics.
TCCF Pitching is also introducing four new prizes of $30,000 for a winning project in each of the four main Project categories (films, series, documentaries and animation), replacing the previous structure of having just one major prize across all four categories.
In total, along with the sponsored awards, TCCF will be handing out more than $315,000 (TWD10m) in prizes. Selected teams will also be eligible to apply for up to $95,000 (TWD3m) in early-stage development support through TAICCA’s Creative Content Development Programme.
TAICCA also announced that international co-productions either led by or involving Taiwan account for more than 60% of selected projects. In the Project segment, notable co-productions include My Cringe Love Notebook, a collaboration between Korea’s CJ ENM and Taiwan’s Yoosonn Entertainment, and Taiwan-Japan co-production The Song About Green, directed by Yamashita Nobuhiro and written by Japan Academy Film Prize-winning screenwriter Mukai Kōsuke.
The Project line-up also includes sci-fi drama UFO Club, produced by Miyuki Fukuma at Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Bunbuku and Japanese film fund and production outfit K2 Pictures, which recently backed Kore-eda’s Venice title Look Back.
In the Series section, Taiwan-US action series Bang & Burn is produced by Hollywood actress Gina Torres with US screenwriters Peter Gamble and Matt Yang King, while Sunlight Delivery is a Taiwanese adaptation of hit Korean series Taxi Driver.
The Documentary section includes projects such as Parachute Kids, directed by S. Leo Chiang, whose Island In Between received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Short Film.
The Animation line-up includes Achugogo: Tale Of The Spring Chaser, featuring a directing team that has worked on projects for Marvel and Toei Animation; and Cosmos Princess, developed by the team behind Oscar-winning animated feature Flow.
TCCF Pitching’s Story segment brings together works across two categories: Fiction & Non-Fiction and Comics. The former category includes author Liu Ka-shiang’s Alpha Scorpii In Summer: Tadao Kano’s Experience Growing Up In Taiwan, about the life of a naturalist during the Japanese colonial era. The Comics category includes Op.9 The Swan, a rare example of Taiwanese sci-fi, which saw its audio drama adaptation win Bronze at the 2026 New York Festivals Radio Awards.
TCCF is scheduled for November 6-9 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
